From Jill Edmunds, Chester

It was a good day for me when I walked into The Osteopathic Health Centre in Chester more than twelve years ago.  I had had problems with my back and pressure on the sciatic nerve and found walking tiring and uncomfortable.  The condition was probably the result of a much earlier Achilles tendon injury.  I was recommended to the practice by a work colleague who having been in considerable pain with a back injury had told me that on his first visit to the clinic he suddenly felt optimistic that he was at last in ‘a safe pair of hands’ that could put him right.  My doctor also recommended my visit after an osteopath from the practice had given her a demonstration treatment.

I was given confidence from the beginning by the fact that no unrealistic claims were made but there was a clear description of what was wrong and how the situation might be improved.  I went ahead with the treatment which seemed so light and easy that is was hard to believe that anything had happened but I soon began to feel some relief which increased and improved over time.  Now in my early seventies, it is a great comfort to know that I can rely on effective and friendly treatment on a regular basis and that I am indeed in ‘a safe pair of hands’.

From Carol Reynolds, Chester

I feel fully confident recommending the OHC for any back or structural problems.  The osteopath I saw has a gentle and understanding approach that has always made me feel comfortable with her treatment.  She is an excellent osteopath.

From Maureen Bampton, Marford, Wrexham

I was referred to an osteopath at the OHC in 1996 by Mr Tim Piggot, a Neurosurgeon at Walton Hospital, Liverpool after being diagnosed with spondylitis.  Since that time she has treated me not only for spondylitis but for other spinal problems.  The most painful time was when I had a slipped disc which eventually necessitated removal of the disc by Mr Piggot.  The osteopath’s treatment helped me enormously both before and after the operation.

There have been other painful periods over the past 13 years and during that time the osteopath has given me excellent treatment which has gradually eradicated the pain plus sound professional advice enabling me to improve my general well being.

I cannot recommend the service provided by the Osteopathic Health Centre too highly.  I am thankful that Mr Piggot recommended me to come 13 years ago as the treatment I have received   has made such a tremendous difference to my life.

From Jenny Wilson (written by Lyn Wilson),  Bunbury, Cheshire

I am 11 years old and have Cerebral Palsy.  I find it difficult sometimes to control my movement in my body.  The osteopath helps me to calm them down when I get stiff with being in my wheelchair.  She stops my body from hurting.

She is very kind and gentle and it does not hurt at all.

From Jean Muscroft,  Glyn Ceiriog

As a family, all four of us have consulted the OHC on different occasions over the last 13 years.  We have all gained great benefits for different conditions such as back pain, autistic spectrum disorder, asthma and poor posture.  I would recommend this osteopathic clinic for both children and adults.

From Fiona Bennett (patient Finlay), Shotton, Deeside

Finlay didn’t sleep well from birth and would wake 6-7 times a night crying for long periods.  I took him to see the osteopath at 18 months and within 6 weeks he was sleeping through the night and still is!

Mrs C Roberts (patient Jack),  Runcorn, Cheshire

I have been attending the centre for almost 5 years now with my son, who was 6 weeks old at his first appointment for cranial osteopathy.  We first presented with symptoms of colic and generally unsettled.  We are always amazed at the positive effect it has on his behaviour following his treatments.  Suddenly our short tempered, frustrated little boy turns into a calm relaxed little angel!!!  Amazing!

Facilities excellent and staff wonderful!!  Can’t praise it highly enough!  Highly recommended!

C. Mulhern, Vicars Cross, Chester

I really want to say to you how grateful I have been for your healing and loving ways with me.  Not only did you help relieve my physical pain but you eased my fears and gave me encouragement at my lowest moments.  It is true that without you I could not have come through my illness as I have done.  You are a really blessed healer and it has been my blessing to know you.

Anna Ellis, Kelsall, Nr. Chester

I am twelve.  Really bad headaches 12 months ago and many hospital and doctors appointments without a diagnosis led me to try osteopathy.  I am really pleased with the way my osteopath has helped me and the effect on my headaches.  I actually enjoy my visits.  I don’t fully understand how they manage to help me but they do.  My headaches are much better.

Dave and Freda Evans, Chester

I and other members of my family have attended the Osteopathic Health Centre on many occasions with a variety of ailments including neck, back and knee.  We have always found the staff pleasant and willing.  They are very knowledgeable in their profession and treatment is of a high standard.  My granddaughter also had cranial osteopathy at 18 months old, which appears to have been very beneficial to her.  We all thoroughly recommend the clinic.

Geoff Taylor, Chester

In January 2004 I started suffering from acute lower back pain, accompanied with severe pain in my thighs.  The pain was always intense when I was in repose – sitting or lying down – it was painful to sit in the car and drive and I could not sleep or relax as the only relief I could gain was by standing and walking around.

On visiting my G.P. I was immediately admitted to hospital as my symptoms suggested an aneurysm in my aorta where it bifurcates to run down either leg.  I was given an ultra-sound and no evidence of an aneurysm was found.  After a day in hospital I was discharged and told that my problem was “mechanical” and associated with my lower back.

Medication comprising a raft of anti-inflammatory and pain killing drugs was prescribed.

Assured that the problem was mechanical, I then visited the Osteopathic Health Centre and within one treatment, was able to give up the painkillers and after several treatments I was back to normal.

Since then I have returned for what I would call maintenance treatments – the problem was not recurred.

Pat and Len Worrall, Frodsham

My husband and myself have been attending The Osteopathic Health Centre for the last 6 months, with neck and shoulder problems, both these problems have responded well to treatment.  The centre has a happy relaxed atmosphere.  We are pleased to recommend this centre to anyone.

Marguerite Youngs,  Kelsall

I first visited The Osteopathic Health Centre over five years ago with low back pain.  I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff and pleased with the huge improvement in my back.  The “cranial approach” is truly remarkable!

Since then I have had short episodes of successful treatments for various conditions, including two fractures and catarrh, which I had had for some years.

One fracture was of my shoulder, and after six months I was given to understand that I would have to live with the movement restrictions.  After three or four treatments at the Osteopathic Health Centre however I had full movement.  It was little short of a miracle!

Ada and Peter Sargent,  Chester

Her GP referred Ada to an Osteopath some fifteen years ago as an alternative to an operation on her lower back that had quite a high risk factor.  Although she had to almost be carried into the Osteopath the treatment enabled her to resume working and lead an almost normal life.  Now a return visit every month to six weeks keeps her active and she still is able to garden and decorate her own home and that of her family.  Ada’s husband Peter suffered an injury to his knee as a young man that sometimes let him down, some thirty years later the Osteopath was able to resolve the problem with no further occurrences.

Margaret Redfern, North Wales

3 years ago I was in so much back pain after hip surgery, I took the plunge and booked my first appointment with the Osteopathic Health Centre it was the best thing I ever did.  The professionalism and the care taken with my problem is superb.
I would recommend anyone to give it a try, you will not regret it.  It changed my life for the better.

Alison Leonard, Chester

I’m writing to say how glad I’ve been for your help with my back and hip problems.  The treatments you give are always beneficial, and I feel in safe hands.  The way you interweave diagnosis and treatment with advice and recommendation has been particularly helpful to me.  The exercises you recommended, which take 10 or 15 minutes a day, have strengthened the muscles in my back so that I’m much better able to cope with a lower back injury.  With my hip, your careful questioning about the way I normally sit and your advice about how to sit in a better way has proved crucial.  I now feel fit, am  active and feel very little pain, and am very grateful indeed for your help.

Natalie Cottle, Higher Kinnerton

I have had sessions on and off with osteopaths at the O.H.C. since my first child was born in June 2003.  Lily my daughter had a birth strain, was very distressed and was immediately settled with just two treatments at 2 weeks old.  After the birth of a further two boys of 10lb plus each my back pain re-occurred as each child reached around 1 year old.  Just a few treatments always cures this pain and helps me to improve post natal pelvic toning.  Thank you.

Carla Pasiero , Manchester

Myself and family have been treated by The Osteopathic Health Centre for a number of years, whenever we have required it.  We have always found the treatment very professional, helpful and healing.  The reception staff are very efficient and friendly too, which all helps.  We live in Manchester but feel that the journey is worth making to receive quality care.
